Something beautiful, this way comes . . .
Sometimes, if we listen closely, we can hear someone say something that can only be described as “something beautiful.”
While watching Jesse Watters “Prime Time” television show the other night, Jesse said to one of his guests, “There’s a promise in the air . . . ” He was referring to the general atmosphere in our nation since former President Donald J. Trump’s landslide election as President Elect on November 5.
“There’s a promise in the air . . . ” Those words hung in the air around me as I listened, and I could not help but smile as I glimpsed the beauty buried within them. Jesse followed closely with, “I can feel it . . . ”
Jesse’s right. I feel it too, Jesse. There is a promise in the air; a promise of hope.
It’s rather like the spirit that envelopes us all during the holiday season as we celebrate Christmas. A time when little children wait expectantly for Christmas Eve, and eagerly watch the sky for a glimpse of Santa with his his sleigh full of toys. A time in which we all get caught up in a spirit of giving, of love, of hope and good will as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
And yes, there are some who are feeling unhappy, possibly depressed over the election results . . . But let us pray that we all catch that feeling of promise that’s in the air. And let us look forward with happiness, hope, and thanksgiving to our Creator, Almighty God.
Grace and peace to you,
Mary Emma
