Speaking of beliefs . . .
In last week’s blog I spoke about former President Trump and his comments about his belief that he was still here on earth for a reason. He was referring to the two recent assassination attempts upon his life.
Those of us who believe in God and the Bible, and his son JesusChrist, would definitely agree—former President Trump is still here for a reason. The Bible speaks plainly that it is God who knits us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139), and determines our days.
One might agree also that there are times in our lives when it becomes necessary to face our own mortality, as President Trump has had to do. Such was my case these last two weeks.
After surviving breast cancer surgery three times (three lumpectomies), during the last thirteen years, two weeks ago I faced the prospect of the same surgery once again. Or, something worse. But, yesterday, following several tests it was determined that the discovered mass was not malignant; and I too, along with President Trump . . . feel I am still here for a reason.
Unless you’ve been in this kind of situation, it probably isn’t possible to truly understand the joy and relief that comes in knowing you’re okay. (I could not stop smiling all the way home!)
And so, President Trump, I wasn’t shot at by someone with a rifle, but I know how you feel. And with you, I give thanks and praise to Almighty God, the one who created us, and who continues to hold us in his mighty hand.
Grace and peace to you,
Mary Emma
