One Nation, Under God
” . . . one nation, under God . . .”
Does anyone else feel as I do . . . that this past week has been a whirlwind?
(All I want is to move slowly along, doing the
necessary, while at the same time enjoying
my blessings. But, life doesn’t happen always
the way we would like for it to happen.)
We watched with horror the assassination attempt on former President Trump’s life a week ago in Butler, Pennsylvania. And then at the Republican National Convention (RNC), in Milwaukee this week, we celebrated his recovery from the wound he received last Saturday—and watched with joy, and praise to God, former President Trump’s nomination as the Republican Party’s candidate for the election coming up in November.
I was able to watch some of the RNC activities during the week, and most of the program on Thursday evening, the final night. It was stirring to see the joy of the people there, and to hear thewords of the many who spoke. But, most moving for me was the moment the Reverend Franklin Graham took the stage and the entire audience there, and many of us who watched—bowed in prayer before Almighty God.
A reminder once again that we are—a nation under God . . . and of our need to remain so.
Grace and peace to you,
Mary Emma
